The problem that innovation answers
The innovation responds to the problem of exclusion of older people from social activities due to age, limited mobility, perception and health.
How does innovation work?
The innovation proposes an innovative model of workshop scenarios aimed at older people, with the leading role performed by a primary school student. The children teach seniors how to use various modern technologies, instant messaging, introduce them to multimedia games and present various websites and tell them how they work. The workshops are supervised by adults - teachers - but it is the children who teach the seniors about the use of modern technologies and instant messaging, multimedia games, and reading websites with online cultural offers.
Who is the innovation for?
Older people with reduced mobility or perception; older people excluded from social activities.
Who can implement the innovation?
Local community centres: school youth organisations: informal groups of young people in local communities: primary and secondary schools: after school centres.
Products resulting from testing
The resultant products of the innovation testing are the workshop scenarios and the model manual.
Results achieved as a result of testing
The acquisition of new skills in the area of technology an increase in self-confidence; stimulation of the mind through intellectual activity; strengthened social bonds and involvement in community life; openness to access a variety of culture and entertainment; increased motivation to learn and discover new things.
