In the market there are no effective solutions to adapt models for creating innovation to the needs and capabilities of small, micro and medium-sized businesses. In addition, development processes in business rely mostly on the access to knowledge and professionals who are based in big cities.
How does innovation work?
“The Innovation Accelerator” is a comprehensive, yet simple model for creating innovation and teaching design thinking, intended for employees of micro, small and medium-sized businesses. Its aim is to make the development process in an enterprise independent of the access to knowledge and professionals based in big cities. With this solution, employees will be able to develop ideas for innovative changes in their organizations internally, relying exclusively on their own resources.
“The Innovation Accelerator” can be used by residents of rural areas and small towns, regardless of their age and education level.
Work in "The Innovation Accelerator" was divided into 5 stages. Activity sheets, instructions, simple ways for scheduling and setting reminders for meetings were prepared for each stage. The stages under “The Innovation Accelerator”include:
- Create a project – project objectives
- Be aware of the challenge – needs, solutions, research
- Refine the idea – opportunities and risks, verified needs and new risks, a personal model for the solution
- Create a prototype – presentation of the solution
- Test the solution – test findings
