The problem that innovation answers
Limited accessibility to new digital technologies for older people with limited mobility and/or perception;experiencing difficulties in using electronic devices, applications or online platforms due to a lack of skills, knowledge or simply because they are apprehensive about using technology;digital isolation in which older people may find themselves due to an inability to fully participate in the digital community, which includes communicating with family and friends, accessing information, services or entertainment online;lack of interaction between different generations and the perpetuation of stereotypes;the slow disappearance of the transmission of experiences between generations.
How does innovation work?
By combining educational and gamification elements with interactive exercises and support from schoolchildren, the innovation enables older people with perceptual and/or mobility limitations to learn to use digital technologies effectively. This gives them the chance to actively participate in the digital environment, stay connected to their loved ones and broaden their experiences. The innovation focuses on older people meeting with young people and discussing an issue together.
