The problem that innovation answers
Family dysfunctions are a widespread problem, and comprehensive help from professionals is needed when several dysfunctions occur at the same time. As a complex and multidimensional phenomenon, dysfunctions represent a challenge for both the society and the government social policy. This applies in particular to the educational policy for solving these complex problems. The key problem is the character of student internships in professions dealing with family and child problems, not only in terms of time or content, but above all because the interns are sent to a single institution, where they cannot learn the entire spectrum of problems and challenges of their future professional work. This refers in particular to experiencing different perspectives of understanding and learning how various problems are addressed and solved by diverse institutions operating in the welfare system. The proposed model provides an opportunity to compare and even combine public, non-governmental or social and educational perspectives in future job.
How does innovation work?
The aim of the interdisciplinary internship is to familiarise the student with the specifics of the profession. An internship in several institutions enables the student to learn how various public, non-public institutions and NGOs provide welfare services. The interdisciplinary program allows the intern to assess how the perspectives of different institutions operating in the social welfare system are complementary or divergent. It also allows future social workers to understand and experience unique professional connections and interdependencies. Such practical knowledge will be invaluable for people who wish to work in institutions coordinating and offering foster care and specialist assistance to children and their families. The added value of the model is creating a platform the institutions to collaborate. The solution aims to create conditions for interns to experience different and complementary perspectives on handling social problems in practice

Most students complete their internships at a single institution and therefore only learn one approach. Thanks to the internship in several institutions (public, non-public and NGOs), the intern has the chance to learn about multiple approaches to addressing social problems and be able to collaborate with different entities in the future
