The problem that innovation answers
This innovation addresses the limited support for parents and caregivers of people on the autism spectrum in strengthening their parenting skills and increasing their child's self-reliance.
How does innovation work?
This innovation is intended for parents and caregivers of people on the autism spectrum, a group struggling with extremely difficult challenges and usually receiving little support in strengthening their parenting skills or in raising their child's self-reliance. Under this innovation three complementary tools were developed to support parents of people on the autism spectrum. These are: - A plan for an engagement workshop intended for parents and caregivers; - A booklet on self-reliance – in the form resembling a conversation of a parent with a specialist, complete with statements from experts, parents and caregivers of people with disabilities; - A set of guidelines, practical tips and inspiration for developing the self-reliance of a child with various levels of disability.
Who is the innovation for?
