The innovation addresses the lack of motivation in adults with low qualifications and skills to engage in self-directed learning.

“The Island of Inspiration” is a computer game to provide adults with coaching and inspiration. It aims to help with: – defining/precisely determining one's career goal and to finding ways to reach that goal; – getting to know oneself – one's personality, abilities and strengths; – understanding and cooperating with people with different personalities. The game characters live on a desert island. In addition to the challenges of surviving and living as a group, the characters have a unique opportunity to get to know each other and redefine their career paths by analysing their stories and life choices together. The characters being cast on the desert island is a metaphor of the change process and will help the player evaluate his/her inner self and set career goals in real life. The game features psychological tests and quizzes as well as interactive dialogues. They help the player discover their personality profile. By identifying with the characters' stories they take a look at everyday problems from a different angle and they are prompted to reflect on their lives.
