A game teaching practical vocational skills to mechanical trade schools

About innovation

The problem that innovation answers

Graduates from trade schools are often inadequately prepared for running their own businesses.

How does innovation work?

The innovation aims to familiarize students with the principles of running their own business in their last years of trade schools. It involves changing the way of conducting practical classes based on a modified entrepreneurship learning program, which includes the educational game "Your first step in business".

The implementation of innovation consists of three stages:

  • conducting lectures in the field of economics, accounting and entrepreneurship as part of a developed didactic program;

  • recruiting participants for the "Your first step in business" game from the participants of stage 1;

  • conducting a business activity simulation as part of the students' professional internships. Students create virtual companies, and real tasks performed during these internships become the basis for calculating the financial results achieved by individual game participants.
