Difficulties associated with taking a bath or shower in spatial conditions unsuitable for people with disabilities.
How does innovation work?
A mobile shower (easy to carry) for use in a room, to allow people able to assume a stable sitting position to wash themselves, who for various reasons (e.g. architectural barriers) are unable to take a safe bath in the existing conditions. Bathing takes place in the space of the shower screen, from which water can be disposed of in two ways: by pumping out or pouring water into appropriate pouches.
Who is the innovation for?
Seniors with limited mobility; people with disabilities; people who are temporarily using wheelchairs.
Who can implement the innovation?
Seniors with reduced mobility; caregivers of seniors; foundations and organisations that support older people; foundations and organisations that support people with disabilities.
Products resulting from testing
A shower model, an individual-scale implementation manual and a set of guidelines and components for implementation (design documentation) at institutional level.
Results achieved as a result of testing
Provision of comprehensive bathing facilities in areas that are not adequately prepared for the needs of people with disabilities and the elderly.
