The nature of innovation

The problem that innovation answers
MOS youth (from 'MOS' - Youth Sociotherapy Centres), due to their limited sense of security, face problems establishing interpersonal relationships, have low self-esteem, low awareness of their own resources and abilities. Often during sociotherapeutic activities they are seen through the prism of not conforming to social norms. Many of these young people lack perspectives and aspirations regarding the direction of their future after education. This is particularly often the case for girls, who are in a minority in the centre. Boys are much more likely to shape their professional and private lives after leaving the centre.
How does innovation work?
The process includes submitting ideas for activities, classes at MOS or improvements to the centre's infrastructure. Coaching and development support in the project is also provided to the MOS teaching and learning staff.
Who is the innovation for?
MOS youth
Who can implement the innovation?
MOS teaching and care staff.
Products resulting from testing
Participatory budgeting working model.
Results achieved as a result of testing
Increased sense of group responsibility for interaction and shared space among MOS youth. By taking up the challenge of submitting a project of PB, young people become accustomed to the participatory budget formula (part of encouraging civic awareness). It also results in social skills training in the understanding of team cooperation.
